Radon Action Month
Radon gas exposure is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. You can’t see, smell or taste radon gas so it is easy to forget that it may be a problem in your home, at work or school. Take action and learn more about how you can protect your family from radon exposure.
Florida Environmental Health engages Florida middle school and high school students to participate in an annual radon poster contest to promote radon awareness and testing of homes, schools, and other buildings.
The 2025 Florida Poster Contest winner is Olivia Rieder, an 8th grader from RJ Murray Middle School. Olivia’s poster- Radon Causes Lung Cancer will be submitted for consideration in the National Radon Poster contest held during National Radon Action Month in January.
